The Milwaukee Bucks are NBA Champions again after 50 years. Led by superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kris Middleton, the Bucks finished off the Phoenix Suns in 6 games.
Giannis cements his Hall of Fame Career
After his historic playoff run, Giannis Antetokounmpo joined the elite class of the Great Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon of players winning a season MVP award, a defensive player of the year awards, and a finals MVP award.
The Greek Freak did also become the seventh player in history to have at least 50 points in a championship series. Not just that, Giannis did also become the first player to record 40 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks in a finals game since 1974.
Coach Bud praised the Suns for the great culture they had built and praised his team saying, “These players, they’re champions every day,” he said. “Every day they come to the building they are champions. They’ve embraced getting better every day, they’ve embraced competing, they’ve embraced playing together. And it’s made them champions tonight. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Is Chris Paul’s Championship window over?
After losing game 6, Paul showed that he still has a lot in the tank, However, looking back at the reason how the Suns got out of the West, we all could say that CP3 can’t win with the Suns.
On his way for his first Finals appearance in 16 years, CP3 defeated the Larkers, Denver, and the Clippers. Yet, all of such team has a star or two out for the playoffs. The Lakers were without AD, Jamal Murray was out for Denver, and Kawhi was hurt for the Clippers.
The Western Conference will surely be tougher next year, with the Golden State Warriors in full health with Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard undecided of his future. CP3’s window may just be over.
